Cheap Hire Cars

Monday, June 30th, 2008

If you are someone who travels a great deal then perhaps it is time you considered budget car rental; being able to step out of the hotel room with a car ready and waiting at any time, can’t be beaten! The one thing you don’t want though is to be lumbered with a car that sounds like your lawnmower. Always be prepared, that is my motto, you do not have to drive a car that should have been scrapped just because you want to save a few dollars on the rental. There are a few things that can help you when you organize a low cost rental car and I decided to let you know a few.

One way that can help is to use a web site for budget car rental that allows you to set your own upper spending limit. These companies will try and get you the best deal available and often offer other upgrades or incentives to get your custom. Look for package deals, fly-drive-stay, or fly-drive, most of these packages give great discounts for rentals, but don’t do it with an airline. Of course the airlines realize they have a captive audience when people visit their site to book a flight and do not need to discount their car rental.

If you are not used to arranging budget car rental on the internet, do not let that put you off as you will be pleasantly surprised by the offers available. In fact many car rental web sites will only give a discount if you book online with them. Shopping around on the internet can be fun and save you money as there is almost always a special offer available with one car Rental Company or another. Plus, and this is the good bit; all this can be done from your home.

Discounts are often available that you don’t realize; they are those that have been arranged between the budget car rental company and your credit card company so it is worth checking as you can save even more money. It is quite common these days for a company to have made an arrangement with other companies to give discounts to their employees or members so you may be lucky enough to receive a further discount here.

Another tip is to check you rental car carefully and let the company know of any damage you find before you drive away. To ensure you do not end up paying for any problems the car may have, including lights, horn etc. that don’t work, it is a good idea to also check these before you drive away.

Before you decide to use the rental company’s insurance plans, take a look at your own policy as you will probably find that it covers rental car insurance as well. Although the rental car insurance isn’t going to be costly, there is no point in paying out twice if your current auto insurance will cover you; always make sure you have auto insurance anyway, as the penalties for driving without adequate cover are severe.

Remember that car insurance is always required when you rent a car.

Caribbean Cruises

Sunday, June 29th, 2008

If you are looking for a vacation with a difference then you really need to book a Caribbean cruise; why not spoil yourself and be treated like royalty while you spend time visiting these idyllic tropical islands. It should be on everyone’s list of vacations with tropical Caribbean islands, clear, clean beaches and of course a fun filled time on board the cruise liner. How long you sail for really is up to your budget and what standard of cabin you want but these tours can be add-ons for other vacations or as long as fourteen or more days.

Vacations like this are about enjoyment and it what these companies do best irrespective of weather or environment, it is your choice; enjoy the on board entertainment or that at each destination. If anything, you will have a hard time keeping up with everything that you can possibly do on a cruise liner.

It is always a pleasant use of your time to see what vacations on ships are available and see what choice of packages there are so why not start at the local travel operator for some advice. Don’t forget that there are a large number of Caribbean islands so cruise liners have arranged packages which reflect certain island themes as they cannot visit every island in such a short space of time.

For those individuals and couples that enjoy parties and event filled vacations then choose a cruise vacation that perhaps is designed more for adults than families. Go to your nearest travel agent for the best Caribbean cruise deal and even try for discounts but you can go to the official website and some may be able to highlight the best packages.

Of course you will need to take all the usual changes of clothing you have for a vacation but ships have many more evening functions which require a little more thought. These are ideal opportunities to dress up which many of us do not get the chance to do these days so the ladies will want at least two evening gowns and the men will require a tuxedo.

The great thing about cruise vacations is that if you take your children along you can be sure they will have a fun filled time. In actual fact there is specially trained staff to take care of children that can provide entertainment activities throughout the entire day and during the voyage.

Couples can take a romantic Caribbean cruise vacation and you will have the holiday you look forward to on a vacation vessel that is for adults only. Honeymooners and couples celebrating wedding anniversaries can also have cruise liner packages tailored to suit them as well.

If you let the staff on your Caribbean cruise do their job, all you will have to do is enjoy the vacation, after all isn’t that what it’s all about.

Business Travel Tips

Saturday, June 28th, 2008

Companies everywhere are finding they need to travel more if they want to meet new customers and to capture new sources of business; with the global popularity of the Internet, even tiny companies can compete, and have customers anywhere. However, anyone who has spent a great deal of their time traveling for their business will tell you just how tiring it can be. There are some things you can do to reduce the amount of stress and fatigue that occurs and some interesting business travel tips and information that is supplied in this article.

Sometimes for instance, baggage goes missing; that is an unfortunate fact of travel and whilst it is distressing enough on a family holiday, on a business trip it can be disastrous. The answer to this is to ensure you have everything you need in your hand luggage.

Although it means taking more on the plane it does mean that whatever might happen you will be prepared for your meeting. When you do pack the main luggage, the clothes you won’t be carrying on as hand luggage, make sure to pack only what you need for this trip.

The easiest way to do this is to only take one pair of casual shoes and work pair; keep your work clothes to exactly what you need for the tip and likewise clothes for when you are on your leisure time. The remaining items to pack will be toilet essentials and any other work related documents that aren’t important.

You should also be able to use a smaller piece of luggage if you roll all of your clothes into a cylinder shape and not fold them as this way they will take up less space and it will reduce the likelihood of creasing which is a business travel tip that flight attendants use all the time. To go one step further, if you want to ensure that even if food or drink are spilled on your clothes you won’t need them laundered; use dark colors which are also handy because creases don’t show as much.

If you are delayed for any reason then knowing you can freshen up prior to the meeting without the need for a shower can be a lifesaver, this is where those travel wipes come in very useful. If you are only away for a couple of days make sure your cell phone and any other electronic equipment are fully charged so you can continue working at your convenience.

Using your traveling time to get essential work done will mean that in the evenings you can take some time out to explore the city you’re staying in. Simply planning ahead for these eventualities mean you will be ready for your business travel journey, no matter what.

If you are able to mix a little personal relaxation time with your work you should enjoy your business travel and you will probably be more productive so the business travel tips highlighted here will be more worth while.

Caribbean Cruises

Friday, June 27th, 2008

Many people now consider Caribbean cruises as excellent value for money and a good place for families to spend some time together; this could be a vacation of a lifetime because it will be one you never forget. What more could you want, with a complete program of daily activities on board the cruise liner, entertainment every evening and the wonderful beaches and islands of the Caribbean. Whilst short breaks are available, perhaps over a weekend period, the vast majority of passengers sail for seven days and sometimes in excess of fourteen but depends on how much you are willing to spend.

Whilst this type of vacation has become widespread each vacationer has diverse needs so there are many different packages available as it is a time for unwinding, enjoyment and revitalization. You can guarantee the cruise liner company will have a package custom made to suit your needs as it is their job to ensure you have the best vacation ever.

It is always a pleasant use of your time to see what vacations on ships are available and see what choice of packages there are so why not start at the local travel operator for some advice. As there are so many islands over quit a large area, Caribbean cruises arrange for only certain ones like Jamaica, Antigua, Bermuda or Bahamas; these islands will get a visit for each type of package that has been arranged so your job is to find one that matches the islands you want to visit.

If your ideal cruise vacation includes partying by the beach or the deck pool, even at a disco well then choose a cruise with plenty of activities. Don’t forget that more and more information is put online these days and whilst the travel agent will be helpful, there is every chance you can take a virtual tour of the Caribbean cruise ships if you visit the website directly.

The main difference with this type of vacation is the number of changes of clothing you take with you as there is a greater opportunity to dress for evening functions. There are more formal evenings where women will to have take evening gowns and men will need a tuxedo as you may be invited to the captains table.

A common mistake is for families to believe that cruise vacations aren’t very child friendly which couldn’t be further from the truth as most have more activities for children than they do for adults. There will be probably more for your children to do than at a standard resort, in fact you probably won’t see them much during the day.

For those of you that would prefer a child free vacation, that too is available so you can cruise around the Caribbean islands without having to worry about children. There is no end to what you can actually request on your cruise liner vacation so if you have just got married or are celebrating your fiftieth wedding anniversary, something special can be arranged.

A Caribbean cruise vacation is the ideal venue for singles, couples and for families as everyone is looked after with a multitude of activities available; no-one ever feels left out.

Business Travel Tips

Thursday, June 26th, 2008

Business travel is on the rise as an increasing number of companies have customer bases all over the world; the Internet has ensured that even tiny companies can have a customer base that is truly global! Business travel can be quite stressful, especially if you are new to working on the move. Whilst the following business travel tips cannot help reduce traveling, they can help with some useful information to make these trips more bearable.

One situation that you will not be able to avoid at some point if you take enough trips is that of lost luggage which can be a real problem if your baggage contains information relevant to your trip. To reduce the chance of a wasted journey, always carry anything that is relevant to your trip in your hand luggage.

With the clothing taken care of the only items left to pack are your toilet bag plus any additional documentation that would be useful but not necessary for the meeting.

A way to save space and possibly take a smaller bag plus reduce any creases is to roll clothing up which takes up less room and a business travel tip well worth noting. The last thing you want on a business trip is having clothes laundered because something was spilt on them, this can easily be avoided by wearing dark clothes which are able to absorb stains more easily.

Of course if you are working to a tight schedule and the inevitable delay happens then you want to know you can attend a meeting at a moments notice and the way to freshen up is by using those hand and face wipes that come in travel packs. Remember before you leave to charge up your cell phone and other electronic devices; look into buying some form of mobile or wireless internet access package so that you can work on the move.

Many business travelers now use the traveling time to do as much work as possible which then allows them some personal time to themselves after work which in turn reduces stress. Just plan ahead for your business travel using this guide and you will be in a position where whatever happens it will not affect your trip and once you have done this often enough it will all become second nature to you.

There is no reason why you shouldn’t enjoy your business travel so adhering to the few, very simple business travel tips given here will make your jouney more enjoyable.
