Caribbean Cruises

Wednesday, June 25th, 2008

A Caribbean cruise vacation is the ultimate deal and if you have not tried it yet, now is the time; the affordability of these cruise liners makes it possible for even younger people to experience them. Everything you could possibly want is there at hand with wonderful Caribbean island locations, a new one each day, and every creature comfort on board the cruise liner. Some people only take a short break and visit perhaps only a couple of islands as part of a larger vacation but most people are doing a tour of as many islands as they can with some lasting over two weeks.

Sailing is an excellent way to enjoy yourself and this includes a person who just wants to send all day on board enjoying the entertainment to someone who can’t wait to explore all the new sights. Cruise liner owners are aware of this and have different packages to cater for diverse crowds so the vacation can meet their needs of a dream holiday with a variety of entertainment packages available.

In any situation where you are spending a great deal of money, it is worth checking out a few details that should put you on the right track and you travel agency will be a good place to start. Almost every Caribbean island will receive cruise liner guests but they can’t call on every one each trip as it would take to long so you need to look for a package that will call at the islands you want.

If your ideal cruise vacation includes partying by the beach or the deck pool, even at a disco well then choose a cruise with plenty of activities. Don’t forget that more and more information is put online these days and whilst the travel agent will be helpful, there is every chance you can take a virtual tour of the Caribbean cruise ships if you visit the website directly.

Remember that a vacation on board a ship allows you more opportunity to dress up as there are more functions than you are probably used too. There are more formal evenings where women will to have take evening gowns and men will need a tuxedo as you may be invited to the captains table.

The great thing about cruise vacations is that if you take your children along you can be sure they will have a fun filled time. There is always something for them to do and people to take care of them if you need a few hours of adult time.

Other specialist Caribbean cruises are concerned with only the concerns of adults that do not have their children with them that can be a little more romantic. Honeymooners and couples celebrating wedding anniversaries can also have cruise liner packages tailored to suit them as well.

If you let the staff on your Caribbean cruise do their job, all you will have to do is enjoy the vacation, after all isn’t that what it’s all about.

Business Travel Tips

Tuesday, June 24th, 2008

Companies everywhere are finding they need to travel more if they want to meet new customers and to capture new sources of business; this is despite advances in information technology and communication. This is putting an increasing strain on business travelers who often become stressed and fatigued at the constant need to be in another part of the world. Hopefully the following business travel tips will help you make the most of your travel time, and perhaps even enjoy the trip along the way.

When baggage goes missing it is irritating to say the least but for someone on a business trip it can be a whole lot more disastrous. The answer to this is to ensure you have everything you need in your hand luggage.

This means that even if your main luggage is lost your trip does not have to be wasted; your meeting can still take place despite any inconvenience that has been caused. Regular travelers know that the main business travel tip when packing is to keep things simple by only including exactly what you need for the journey and that way you won’t go far wrong if luggage goes missing.

The easiest way to do this is to only take one pair of casual shoes and work pair; keep your work clothes to exactly what you need for the tip and likewise clothes for when you are on your leisure time. The only other essentials to pack are your toiletries and any non-essential business information that you might require.

To make further space and allow you to pack a smaller bag, roll your clothing into tight cylinders; this allows you to pack things tightly and will help you to avoid wrinkles – try to remember this useful business travel tip. Dark clothing are very useful for traveling business people as it hides stains and dirt very well, so if you get sweaty or spill a coffee on the flight it won’t be too noticeable.

Another little trick that experienced travelers use is to carry hand and face wipes with them which can freshen your appearance in seconds without the need of a washroom. Cell phones and other related equipment normally have good battery life but don’t forget to take a charger if you are going to be somewhere for more than a few days.

Using your traveling time to get essential work done will mean that in the evenings you can take some time out to explore the city you’re staying in. By following these few quick and handy tips you should find that you will not be on the back foot and no matter what happens during your travel on business, you should have a successful trip.

These few business travel tips if used, can make the difference between a relaxing few days when you travel on business, or a more stressful time if you decide to not to use them.

Visiting Paris

Monday, June 23rd, 2008

Paris is one of the premier capitals of the world especially the romantic amongst us; it sits on the banks of the river Seine and is also known as the City of Lights. Unfortunately a Paris short stay can only ever be considered a taster; it is almost guaranteed that a second, longer stay will be required.

It is renowned for its wonderful Gothic inspired buildings and street markets; plus sights like the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre and many other places that are havens for tourists, both home grown and international. Traveling through the city of Paris can be very enjoyable; there is a superb underground rail system called the Metro which is efficient and easy to understand.

At almost 1,000 feet high, the Eiffel Tower is an impressive sight; it’s visible throughout most of the city but the views from the top of this huge steel structure are even more impressive. At night, it comes alive with lights that have to be seen to be believed; guided tours are available where the patriotic tour guides give you an in depth history and an insight to what it is to be French.

A trip down the Champs Elysees is encouraged when you visit Paris as this is the city’s most famous street; with shops, cafes, and restaurants littered along the wide pavements, it is a ‘must see’ for every visitor. This is an ‘up-market’ area that attracts thousands of tourists each day; top class hotels are found here, although if you want to stay at a more reasonably priced hotel, they are available outside of the city center.

The city’s famous museum, the Louvre is huge and worth a visit if you have the time; with over 300,000 wonderful artistic works, you simply cannot see all of it in one day. Even on a short stay in Paris, this is a an art lovers paradise; some of the world’s most important art collections including the infamous Mona Lisa are on display. What makes Paris special is the number of artists that have been attracted to this great capital; many of whom left large collections of their paintings here like Monet and Picasso.

The famous 19th century edifice built on Napoleons instructions, the Arc de Triomphe, is also in Paris; the names of his generals engraved upon it to honor them and his troops. A little known fact is that there’s a viewing observatory built into the building allowing the whole area to be viewed; including all the avenues of which it is a focal point.

Certainly it is not fair to believe that these are the only places in the city worth visiting; there are plenty of others to keep you occupied but to make the most of your time, use one of the guided tours. A Paris short stay vacation will probably be best suited as just a taster of the city; the likes of medieval churches, buildings and castles, which it has in abundance, will have to wait until another time.

Visiting Paris

Sunday, June 22nd, 2008

If you are planning to visit Europe then you must stay at least a couple of days in one of its largest cities, Paris; ideally situated along the banks of the river Seine. No visit to Europe would be complete without a short stay in Paris; for most visitors, this is just enough time to see what it has to offer.

A city famous for its fabulous architecture, good food, wine, street markets and galleries; the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe and the Louvre must not go unmentioned. Like most European cities, Paris is easy to get around; the Metro underground train network will probably be the main method as it runs regularly and reaches every part of the city.

The Eiffel Tower at over 300 meters tall and is a magnificent steel structure; it’s visible throughout most of the city but the views from the top of this huge steel structure are even more impressive. You can be assured of an even more beautiful sight if you visit in the evening when it is illuminated; it is possible to take organized tours which tell the story of the Tower and the history of France.

A trip down the Champs Elysees is encouraged when you visit Paris as this is the city’s most famous street; with shops, cafes, and restaurants littered along the wide pavements, it is a ‘must see’ for every visitor. This is considered a more exclusive and busy area of the city; it is also where most of the five star hotels are situated but thankfully hotels tend to be cheaper once you move away from the city center.

The world famous Louvre museum is in this city; it houses over three hundred thousand exhibits but not all of them are ever on display at the same time. There are so many exhibits here they cannot all be viewed during a short stay in Paris; the Mona Lisa is one such world famous work of art which should not be missed. Many well known artists spent years of their lives in Paris; chances are that you will have the opportunity to see a number of famous paintings whilst you’re visiting.

Another famous Paris attraction is The Arc de Triomphe which was built within the first decade of the nineteenth century; the names of his generals engraved upon it to honor them and his troops. The Arc is the focal point of the city and contains an observatory to view the local area; in particular those obtained along the lanes that lead from it.

You will not be at a loss for places to visit whilst in the city; but these should certainly not to be missed because many offer regular guided tours, some at little or no charge at all. Paris short stay vacations should only ever be considered as tasters for what is a truly magnificent city; that would require a longer visit as you probably won’t have time to visit the Gothic churches and castles in only a few days.

Visit Orlando

Saturday, June 21st, 2008

Although the madness of an Orlando vacation might seem scary at times with the number of theme parks to visit, this city has more for the visitor if they want something a little different. There are enough shops, markets, museums, art galleries and much more in Orlando to keep even the most ‘difficult to please’ person occupied. The city has been attracting tourists for a long time and justifiably so as it has just about everything the visitor could want.

As one of the most tourist centered cities in the world, Orlando a great deal to offer including large shopping malls, restaurants of every type, night clubs, bars and many specialist shops. An Orlando vacation is a destination that offers a wide range of attractions perfect for adults and children of all ages.

Although Zoos have taken a bit of criticism in recent years, their value to education and the preservation of species cannot be dismissed and the Central Florida Zoo in Sanford is one of these. Privately owned, this zoo is also a botanical garden run by a charitable group whose purpose is to protect native and endangered species around the world.

Back in 1942, the Morse Museum of American Art in Winter Park started exhibiting the world’s most extensive collection of the works of Louis Comfort Tiffany. For aficionados of Tiffany art, this is the place to visit with the largest display anywhere in the world, including jewelry, paintings, glass, pottery and ornaments.

Orlando is certainly a city for all age groups and not solely designed for the amusement of children as family and adult attractions are in equal numbers. Vibrant Night life is also popular on vacations to Orlando with music and dance available at some of the favorite venues which include Downtown Disney’s Pleasure Island, Universal City walk, and other clubs.

Another great place to visit about twenty minutes drive from Orlando Airport is The Orlando Science Center, originating back to 1955; it is a huge complex with over two hundred thousand square feet of exhibition space spanning ten halls. Then there is the International Trolley and Train Museum where you can see toy trains from the 1920s; plus take a ride in a California Victorian-style half open/half closed trolley car.

For something a little different there’s the Titanic Exhibition which tells the story of the ill fated Ocean Liner performed by a character from the ship; the displays contain some original salvaged items and at times the tour is very moving. Of course if you prefer something more relaxing then you should visit Lake Eola Park, situated in the heart of downtown; this is the city’s main attraction with 43 acres of beautiful sidewalks and a boating lake.

Of course how could anyone possibly visit Orlando without a visit to at least one theme park; and for those of you who are unsure Disney has four; not including the water parks; Universal has its own versions including Seaworld. An Orlando vacation has enough tourist attractions to last a year so the next time you visit, why not try one or two of the others; they may be less well known but can be just as impressive.
