Business Travel Tips

Tuesday, September 16th, 2008

Companies everywhere are finding they need to travel more if they want to meet new customers and to capture new sources of business; even the smallest company can have customers anywhere in the world now. It is business travelers though who are feeling the strain with increasing stress and fatigue levels. There are some things you can do to reduce the amount of stress and fatigue that occurs and some interesting business travel tips and information that is supplied in this article.

Unfortunately, personal baggage goes missing from time to time and even if you are fortunate enough to have it returned, it may be too late for your meeting. An easy remedy to this is to pack as much as possible that you absolutely must have for you meeting, in your hand luggage.

This means that even if your main luggage is lost your trip does not have to be wasted; your meeting can still take place despite any inconvenience that has been caused. Of course when you are packing your main suitcase for the journey, it will be much simpler for you if you only include items that are essential and is an important business travel tip to remember.

The order of the day is simplicity, this means just enough business clothes for the trip and the same for the evenings; if the amount of footwear is restricted to one pair for business and one for pleasure then you will be keeping your luggage to minimum. The remaining items to pack will be toilet essentials and any other work related documents that aren’t important.

You should also be able to use a smaller piece of luggage if you roll all of your clothes into a cylinder shape and not fold them as this way they will take up less space and it will reduce the likelihood of creasing which is a business travel tip that flight attendants use all the time. To go one step further, if you want to ensure that even if food or drink are spilled on your clothes you won’t need them laundered; use dark colors which are also handy because creases don’t show as much.

With all this done, it should be quite easy to just get off the plane and use a couple of freshen-up wipes (those in travel packs) that will make you feel and smell better before you meet your customer. Remember before you leave to charge up your cell phone and other electronic devices; look into buying some form of mobile or wireless internet access package so that you can work on the move.

If you make effective use of your day time ‘downtime’ while you are traveling, then you may be able to spend evenings exploring the areas once when you arrive at your business trip destination. Regular business travelers make these preparations before every trip to ensure the business side of it goes without a hitch.

Business travel does not have to be all work and by using the business travel tips shown here, there should be time for rest and relaxation too.

Caribbean Cruises

Monday, September 15th, 2008

As an alternative to a standard single center land based vacation, Caribbean cruises are becoming increasingly sought after; with package prices now more affordable there has never been a better time to go. Everything you could possibly want is there at hand with wonderful Caribbean island locations, a new one each day, and every creature comfort on board the cruise liner. How long you sail for really is up to your budget and what standard of cabin you want but these tours can be add-ons for other vacations or as long as fourteen or more days.

The great thing about cruising is that these ships have immense experience in catering for just about all tastes so whether you just want to relax on the deck or want a full itinerary of events, they will be able to supply exactly what you want. Never worry that there will not be enough to keep you occupied as cruise liners are past masters at ensuring their travelers have everything they need.

Planning is the key to vacationing and with the number of packages now available it will be well worth your time to have a chat with your tour operator’s agent. As there are so many islands over quit a large area, Caribbean cruises arrange for only certain ones like Jamaica, Antigua, Bermuda or Bahamas; these islands will get a visit for each type of package that has been arranged so your job is to find one that matches the islands you want to visit.

Many cruise vacations cater more for adults and the activities include discos, late night entertainment, casinos and shows with daytime events to challenge those with an excess of energy. Even though your tour operator should be able to provide information on the types of Caribbean cruise packages that are available, there will probably be more advice to be found on the web sites.

Besides the usual, you need to pack suitable attire for many occasions like formal evening wear as well as beach, deck and other casual wear. For formal evenings and events a gown is necessary for women and tuxedo for men so that you can be seen in your finest and something you need to be prepared for especially if you are invited to the Captains table.

Even if you intend to bring along your children on a family cruise vacation, there are plenty of programs to occupy them and they will not have a dull moment. You can even take time off for a little quality adult time as there is fully trained staff to look after them.

But Caribbean cruises can be for adults to and there are those that do not have children on board. Honeymooners and couples celebrating wedding anniversaries can also have cruise liner packages tailored to suit them as well.

A Caribbean cruise will be your vacation of a lifetime as it has the scenery, locations, beaches and the first class service you can expect on board a cruise liner whether you are alone or with others.

A way to save space and possibly take a smaller bag plus reduce any creases is to roll clothing up which takes up less room and a business travel tip well worth noting. If you carry dark clothing with you it can help if anything is spilt on them as it is harder to see stains on dark clothes.
