Italy

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009

Exciting, romantic, chic and timeless - it will capture your heart and soul and keep you mesmerised. As one of the premier destinations in Europe, with an impressive history and marvellous natural beauty, Italy’s most enduring attraction is its vibrant sense of style and passion that will never fail to impress.

Swap days by the swimming pool for sightseeing in Sorrento where you’ll find no better place to sample pizza and pasta than Piazzo Tasso. It is especially charming in the evenings, when you can stroll around tree-lined streets and do as the Italians do - linger over a meal and a glass of wine as the sun sets over the horizon.

The Neapolitan Riviera is one of the most enchanting corners of the Mediterranean.

Skopelos

Thursday, December 17th, 2009

Arriving by boat from Skiathos into Skopelos Bay, marvel at this incredibly green island, its pine covered mountains and 20 miles of beaches and coves; allowing the people of Skopelos remote tranquillity in contrast to their busier neighbours in Skiathos.

The port town of Skopelos is one of the most beautiful in all Greece. Rows of tall white houses with red tile roofs overlook the activity in the harbour below. Hidden among the maze of quaint cobbled streets (so narrow and steep cars can forget it!) are 125 churches, surprisingly sophisticated shops and perched on top, the ruins of a Venetian fortress.

There is Stafilos Beach 4km away, easily reached by regular bus, with a lovely cliff top taverna and next door Velanio beach, outside the main town. Otherwise, the tiny hamlet of Agnontas has a pretty port, or there’s the secluded beach of Limonari with many tavernas, dancing bars and a disco.

Menorca

Sunday, December 13th, 2009

The holiday island of Menorca is often known as the sleepiest Balearic because of its peaceful tranquility and unhurried way of life. White washed villages nestle amongst the lush greenery and gentle countryside.

Don’t be fooled though as the island still has plenty to shout about. The rocky coastline is dotted with hidden coves and grottos, making ideal dive sites.

There are over one hundred fantastic beaches in Menorca, with gently sloping golden sands and crystal clear water.

Halki

The scenic island of Halki lies just 6km off the west coast of Rhodes. The hillside village settlement of Emborio, is a spectacular sight as you sail into the stunning harbour.

The bell tower of St Nikolas church dominates the skyline, with the colourful houses rising in tiers from the Waterfront.

Bali Festivals

Burials, cremations, weddings, ceremonies dedicated to temples and gods, full moon … In Bali, it does not go a day without ceremony. The villages and their inhabitants are more then their finery to show their commitment to the gods.
