The property was home the Captain Schjonnerman in the late 19th Century, who sailed the world trading raw materials before setting up a navigation school in Hill House, part of which is now Captain?s Quarters. The current owners have refurbished the cottage to a very high standard, achieving a ?Highly Commended? award in the 2004/5 South West Tourism Awards. Upon arrival you will find fresh flowers in the property along with freshly baked scones or muffins, as well as coffee tea, milk, bread and butter. The owners also ensure that details such as soap, shampoo, dishwasher tablets, washing powder, and washing up liquid is provided, ensuring you just need to arrive with your clothes for a great holiday. Returning guests are also presented with a complementary meal from the owners ? choose from fish, vegetarian and meat dishes from an award winning cook. The cottage sits on the side of the hill, overlooking Brixham?s harbour, fishing port and marina with far reaching views across Torbay and out to sea. The centre of Brixham and the harbour are just a 1 minute down the hill, where the attractions and harbour front restaurants offer tempting fish dishes. Please note there is a Friday to Friday changeover during July and August. Living InformationInside the property features antiques and artefacts from the Far East, including Chinese rugs, monastery paintings and temple carvings, along with hand made needlework. The living area can be found on the first floor, up a spiral staircase, with great views over the harbour, marina and out to sea. There are a pair of two seater love seats and an armchair, along with interesting and unusual antiques. A large bookcase holds numerous books for the use of guests. Entertainment provided by a T.V. full Sky digital package with movies, sport and children’s channels as well as a DVD player, video recorder and videos. Kitchen InformationKitchen The kitchen is modern with a dishwasher, fridge with freezer tray, oven/grill with electric hobs and hood over, microwave, kettle, toaster and a range of high quality utensils. The cottage has a separate laundry room on the ground floor complete with washer/dryer and an additional fridge/freezer. Dining The dining area and kitchen are accessed through an arch, where there is a circular table and 4 padded chairs. Sleeping InformationMaster Bedroom The master bedroom is located up the spiral staircase on the second floor where the harbour, marina and sea views can be enjoyed. The entire floor has been laid out as a spacious suite with a king-size bed with hand made quilt, separate dressing area with plentiful storage. En-suite bathroom. Bedroom Two The second bedroom is located on the ground floor, again with sea views. Features a double bed, with built in wardrobes and 3 drawer chest, finished with a collection of antiques including porcelain teapots and Chinese monastery paintings on the wall.
